Croatia Part 1 - Zadar

I traveled to the Mediterranean in late October. Croatia to be more specific. I loved seeing the mixture of architecture (Roman influence, Soviet influence, and even some of the destruction from the civil war about a decade ago).

Here are some pics from the trip.

Church in old town Zadar. It was build on top of a Roman forum

More churches on the other side of the street

I'm inside the church in the first picture. The round building.

Part of the Sea Organ art display. These are solar cells that power the sea organ and light display

There was a regatta during the weekend in the Adriatic. It was pretty neat to watch.

One of the Croatian hosts took us to his boat club. There was a pretty neat party. This is a big pot of...

...mussels!!! So tasty! The third best meal in Croatia.

I wonder how much this "pot" is worth in the States

View from the top of the church in picture 1.

Local alcohol. It's good with tonic.

Squid?

One of my favorite pictures from the trip

This was in a coffee shop. Talk about blending the new with the old

Šibenik

A church on the UNESCO world heritage list. The Cathedral of St. James in

Organ in the Cathedral

Amazing carvings

I love the water :)

Playing with camera settings

Mini waterfall :)

Large water fall. This is in Krka national park. Home of the world's second hydroelectric dam (which opened two days after Niagara falls)
